Family: Malvaceae (hibiscus family)

Shrub (1 to 2m tall) with beautiful five petalled pink flowers with a deep red centre. Distinguished from Gossypium sturtianum by the fine hairs on the leaves, fruit and seeds and its slender habit.

The most common and widespread pink flowering hibiscus plant of the Australian interior, often forming small colonies.

Grows in a variety of situations including open woodland, spinifex plains, hillsides and disturbed areas in sandy, gravelly or rocky soils.

Large range across northern and central Australia (Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland).
