Eremophila latrobei subsp. latrobei
Family: Scrophulariaceae
Upright shrub to 1.5m tall with greyish leaves and pale red, bell shaped flowers which hang downwards. Flowering occurs through late winter and spring and is enhanced by rainfall. This subspecies is usually restricted to rocky hillsides.
This native fuchsia is widespread across arid Australia and is both drought tolerant and fire resistant.
Distinguished from its close relative Eremophila latrobei subsp. glabra by the presence of hairs on the sepals (the part which wraps around the flower when in bud).
Where to find this plant at Alice Springs Desert Park
Can be found in all areas of the park with the exception of the Sand Country habitat.
