Family: Liliaceae

Perennial lily which grows from a bulb and features beautiful white or yellow, highly perfumed flowers. The flowers appear in a cluster at the end of a thick stem.

Bulb has medicinal properties for skin afflictions and is eaten in other parts of Australia but is considered poisonous in Central Australia.

This plant is considered rare in the Northern Territory and is found in various habitat types including along watercourses and under mulga.

Where to find this plant at Alice Springs Desert Park

Only located in a small area in the Sand Country habitat near the entrance to Awaye Flat. The flowers are short lived, so be quick to see them at their best!
