White spider flower

Grevillea albiflora

Family: Proteaceae

Tall narrow tree to 4m with spectacular white-cream fragrant flowers appearing at the tops of the plants in late spring and summer, mainly November to January. Can grow to 8m in the wild.

Bird attracting and popular with insects especially ants.

Occurs in the Northern Territory (around Uluru to Rainbow Valley) on deep red sand plains and sand ridges. Also found in Queensland and New South Wales.

Small grove growing in the Sand Country habitat on the dune between the first aviary and the salt pan.
